Angelique and Jeanine van der Sluijs competed at CVI Fossalta di Portogruaro in Italy on March 29-31. This was the first international competition scheduled for the new season. The sisters competed in the Senior 1* Pas De Deux class with the horse Burberry Spot, lunged by Alice Sala. This marked the first time that the pair took part in an international event as a Pas De Deux. It was a very good experience for the pair, and they reached their personal goals at the event. Their overall score was 6.282.
The 2013 National Rules have minor changes only, are now available here for download in the original formatting, and are available on the Equine Canada website in the official Equine Canada formatting.
Changes for 2013 revolve around cleaning up a discrepancy with the number of team members, how the scoring components are divided when two judges are used, and fixing a discrepancy between the Competition Chart and the Types of National Events.

The American Vaulting Association has announced that they will hold one CVI on the Pacific coast each year, with the location rotating within the Pacific regions. For 2013, it will be located in Hollister, CA, for 2014 in Hanford, CA, and for 2015 in Oregon. The dates for 2013 will be July 12-14. This announcement is certainly great news for Canadian FEI level competitors, both present and future.

First of all, note that you can visit the VaultCanada YouTube Channel using the link on the left under Quick Links. The well-known Compulsory videos have been there since the start. We also just added a new video that demonstrates trying out a new vaulting horse!
We want your good-quality vaulting videos to be showcased here as well! If you have a reasonable-to-good quality video of vaulting that is either of Canadians, or is a montage of vaulting created by a Canadian that contains at least some Canadians, please send it our way and we will add it to the channel.
The changes to the FEI Equine Prohibited Substance List (EPSL) have now been approved by the FEI Bureau and will come into effect on 1 January 2013.
